Sure Recruitment are currently hiring a Container Transport Planner for our client based in Linwood.
The role will involve safely and legally plan and manage the operation of a fleet of vehicles and drivers, coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries and collections, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering strong communication with all relevant depots to maintain an effective support network across all locations.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in container traffic planning including the use of Port VBS systems, strong communication skills for interacting with managers, drivers and customers, previous experience with transport management software – experience with RoadRunner is advantageous but not essential and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
This role is full time based over Monday to Friday with participation on a rota to work Saturday (roughly 1 in 10 at the moment)
Salary Range – £31,000 – £35,000 DOE
Shift times run on a rotation as follows :
Week 1 – 0530 – 1430
Week 2 – 0800 – 1700
Week 3 – 1000 – 1900
Reasonable flexibility is expected in order to meet the requirement of the business, particularly during peak operational periods.
Key responsibilities include:
- Accurately input customer orders manually into our system.
- Maintain regular communication with drivers throughout the shift, promptly identifying and resolving any issues that could affect delivery schedules.
- Proactively inform customers of any potential delays, using established communication channels.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times
- The above duties are integral aspects of the role, however there are other tasks involved in the general day to day operation of the warehouse which you will be required to be a part of.

- Ability to adapt and reprioritise tasks based on route changes and operational demands.
